Welcome to my colorful world!
My name is Belinda Johnson, and I hail from the vibrant landscapes of Kailua and Kāneʻohe on the beautiful island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Growing up in a household where creativity flourished—thanks to my artist mother—I developed a deep-rooted passion for all things artistic from an early age.
For me, beauty is not just an aesthetic; it's a form of warfare. In today's often dark and chaotic world, the act of creating something beautiful feels like a power statement—a direct assault against all the noise. I often questioned the relevance or importance of creating art, creating beauty. But as I thought about the power and beauty of nature and its ability to heal the soul, I grew in confidence. If God created beauty, even beautiful places we humans may never find, let alone see! It’s like He laughs in the face of darkness and keeps creating beautiful things just to bring us joy and healing! He created me in His image, so I too can laugh in the face of darkness and confidently create beautiful things to push back the dark. I began to see its transformative potential. Crafting beauty is an act of rebellion, pushing back against negativity and celebrating the profound impact of art on the human soul.
As my artworks find their place on the walls of your office or home, my greatest wish is for them to bring you joy with every glance. I bought my first gigantic piece of art in San Miguel, Mexico, and I remember talking to my Airbnb host, who was also an art lover. He said, “If it brings you joy, you should get it. Does it make your heart happy? Then it doesn’t matter the cost. Grab it up.” And I did. That was in 2015, and every day with my 6-foot x 4-foot painting since then, STILL makes me smile, and brings me joy. He was 100% right.
My goal/desire is that you would find something here in my little corner of the world that does that for you. It could be big or small, but may it bring you so much joy, hope, love…and color.
With love, Belinda
